Life In America

        I, Michael William Guenther, was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on November 19, 1952 to parents George Henry Guenther and Madonna Rose Goss. I had spent four years in the Navy, a year and half of which I was stationed in Port Mugu, California. I loved the weather in California so much I decided to move there upon graduation from Penn State University in June of 1979. After graduating with a Bachelors in Science in Electrical Engineering I took an engineering position with Rockwell International to work on the Space Shuttle program. My love with aerospace stems from my four years of Naval Aviation Service where I flew as crew on different types of aircraft. While in California I received my Masters in Business Administration. Subsequently I became an engineering consultant on the B-2 program at Northrop Corporation for 7 1/2 years. During this time a friend had talked me into vacationing in Thailand where I met and married my wife, Somporn Liamkrajang, on December 13, 1991. Eleven months later she joined me here in California. In 1992 after my consulting position with Northrop was up I went back to Rockwell Corporation. Since then The Boeing Company had bought out Rockwell's Space Division and I am currently working as a Project Manager on the Space Station program at Boeing's Huntington Beach, California division. Somporn and I do not have any children.
