The George Henry Guenther Sr. Family

Life In America

        George Henry Guenther Sr., my father, was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on May 23, 1921 to parents Charles Guenther and Minnie Lindolpher. In his travels he met and married a woman named Madonna Rose Goss, my mother, and started the Guenther bloodline. Madonna was born in Lawler, Iowa on February 25, 1918. George and Madonna met during World War II in the South Pacific (kind of like the movie). He was a Warrant Officer in the Army and she was a third class petty officer in the Navy. Shortly after World War II ended Madonna and George were married in Lawler, Iowa the birthplace of my maternal grandmother, Florence Ann Canty. My father and mother had four children: three boys named George Henry Jr., Charles Joseph, and of course me, Michael William, and one girl named Linda Anne.
