Kelly Ann Bruess was born in Dodgeville, Wisconsin on March 24, 1965 to parents Mary Lou Hoey and Clarence Joseph Bruess. Their family eventually moved to Monroe, Wisconsin where she met and married a man named Patrick Place. Kelly and Patrick originally met in Nursery school and actually lived a block apart for most of their school years. Both went to the University of Wisconsin in Madison and were married after their freshman year. Kelly and Patrick have three children, one boy named Michael Anthony and two girls named Stephanie Elizabeth and Katharine Marie.
